#InterestingWorldofRealEstate : A while back i was showing a property in my neighborhood of #CollegeGlen . The sellers came up with a genius idea. I know it wouldn't work for everyone but it seemed to be great from them. They took the closet in the living and converted it to an office/homework station. The doors can completely close (even with chair) but when fully opened theres a desk with a computer, even a printer on the shelving above. Pretty cool #StepIntoMyCloset #HomeworkInTheCloset #Creative #CollegeGlenRealEstate #SacramentoRealEstate #Sacramento

Interesting World of Sacramento Real Estate - 11/17/2016
Since i became a full time Sacramento Real Estate agent, i have seen and heard many strange/funny/odd/weird/interesting things. A lot of times i get to see things many people would not in their job since i am inside of so many homes and interacting with some many different people from all walks of life. Here's a quick look at my latest interesting "thing."

#InterestingWorldofRealEstate : Over the past 10 years of being a Realtor i've seen a lot of interesting things. Especially in the beginning years there were a lot of short sales and foreclosures to deal with that were in horrible condition. Thankfully those have mostly gone away. But earlier this year i was working with a cash buyer that wanted to pick a deal that needed some work done to be fixed up. SO, we were in some pretty interesting bank owned fixers. Take a look at some of the damage done by previous owners and squatters in some cases. #DontUseIfItDoesntFlush #HotPinkWithRubyRed #PlungerWontDoTheTrick #SacramentoRealEstate #TheTVisNotWorking

#InterestingWorldofRealEstate:
I was showing houses to a buyer client of mine a while back and we came across this cool/unique piece on the wall. Hello Mr. Mustache, would you like to hold my coat/hat/umbrella??? THank you.
One of those awesome pieces you just don't see everyday.
And then as we continued through the house a bit more, we walked into the master bedroom area. Hardly anything had been done to the house except this area was updated. Problem?? The mirror only goes half way to each sink. Ooops!
They decided to pass on the house

I was showing houses to a buyer client of mine a while back and we came across the "dated" property. The photos don't do this room justice. THis room had bright PINK walls/doors/trim/everything. I needed my sunglasses on to not be blinded. And then to cap off the color and shag carpet, there were these massive door handles in the center of the closet doors. My clients passed on the house...not sure why.

#InterestingWorldofRealEstate:
I was showing houses to a buyer client of mine two weeks ago and walked into a bathroom of a vacant property to see this. Originally it was just a tub but the previous owners wanted it to function as a shower. so rather than open up the wall and correctly install the plumbing, they just ran a pipe up the outside. Nothing holding it for support. Some of it is metal/galvanized and some of it is plastic/PVC. Never seen that one before.
Makes me wonder what other projects #HandymanJoe did around the house??? #SacramentoRealEstate #NoPermitNeeded

#InterestingWorldofRealEstate:
- "We're going to sell our house. What should we use to stage it?"
- "I don't know, i've got some car parts laying around that we can put in the living room."That's the conversation that went through my head when i saw this vacant house in #CollegeGlen in the summer of 2014. What an interesting set up. A car bumper on the fireplace, some rims as end tables and huge truck bed tool box for the center piece. To this day i'm still not sure what they were going for but just thought i'd share this bizarre staging idea. #SacramentoRealEstate #EverythingButThePassengerDoor #GreaseMonkeyStaging

#InterestingWorldofRealEstate: Today's photo was taken at a vacant property for sale in my Neighborhood of #CollegeGlen . From the first photo you can see i walked to the side of the house to get the key from the lockbox on the gas meter. Then i noticed some shoe string tied to the fence. I looked closer and the shoe string was all that kept the gate "Locked." Maybe the homeowner is hoping that a potential thief of their home is a kindergardener and hasn't mastered the art of tying and untying their shoes yet. Otherwise, about two seconds for anyone and they can be in the backyard. Not the greatest antitheft device. #SacramentoRealEstate #ShoeStringAlarmsCompany #IcantGetThisDoubleKnotUntied

#InterestingWorldofRealEstate: Today's photo was taken a few years back, i recently came across it while scanning through some old pictures in Google Photos. This was a bank owned home. I'm standing in a loft area looking down on the living room. That is the angled/vaulted ceiling, just completely destroyed. The entire house was like this: all the appliances missing, holes in walls, doors broken, you name. The sad thing is that this was a pretty common site at the height of the foreclosure peak in Sacramento. For a few years, nearly half of the homes i went inside had similar damage (typically not as bad but still damage none the less). I decided to post as shock to some people that maybe never saw this kind of stuff and also a reminder of unfortunately how bad things were for the economy/real estate/american family at that time. #SacramentoRealEstate #IthinkWeMightHaveAleak #PutSomeDuctTapeOnIt
