Bancroft Celebrates the Arts

FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. Local professional and semi-professional artists will show their art in an informal setting from 6:30 - 7 pm, followed by performances by Bancroft dancers, pianists and drummers! What a great way to spend a family night.

If you are or know of a local artist who would like to show their art, please call Jeanne Chasko at 601-6848 or e mail at jeanne.chasko@gmail.com

Nominate a Sacramento Teacher for a cash grant

Do you have an excellent teacher in you or your children's lives???  Well, now is the time to give them some much needed and appreciated recognition.  Every year, my company, Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie Real Estate gives away dozens of $599 cash grants to Outstanding teachers all over Northern California.  Take a few minutes to nominate a teacher that you know and appreciate.

Here's the details:

This Spring, the teachers chosen for grants will be honored at Award Ceremonies with public acknowledgement of their achievements and a $599 cash grant to be used at their discretion.  To date, our Foundation has awarded $818,000 to 1,365 special public school teachers throughout Northern California. Nominations are due March 31.

Recycle Center in Bancroft Parking Lot

Most residents in College-Glen are now aware of the recycle bin in the Bancroft Elementary School parking lot...but for those of you that aren't, it's a great option.

The bin helps the school raise money and since we are now on a bi-monthly recycle bin schedule, it is a good option when/if your personal bin gets full too fast.

The College-Glen Neighborhood Association and Bancroft are asking students and community members to bring their office paper, newspaper,  corrugated cardboard, cans and plastic bottles to Bancroft and place it in the yellow recycling bin located in the back parking area.

Thank you to the sponsors of the program:
Atlas Disposal
L & D Landfill
Sacramento Recycling & Transfer Station
Recycling Industries
CGNA

The sponsors are responsible for the the administrative costs, resulting in 100% of the proceeds going straight back to Bancroft to help supplement the supply budget for the school.
